About

Hello! I am a second-year M.A. student and teaching assistant in the Department of Linguistics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My research focuses on theoretical phonology, particularly phonological representation and constraint interaction at the phonetics-phonology interface. I work primarily on Italian dialects, currently focusing on Bolognese (an Emilian variety spoken in Bologna, Italy) as a case study for understanding vowel reduction and related morphophonological processes.

My surname is pronounced as [ˈɑz.gɪn] (‘Oz’ like the wizard, plus ‘fin’ with a hard ‘g’).
